MP28 START-UP
Klabin has the most modern paperboard machine in the world. Klabin has just started-up Paper Machine 28 (MP28) at the Puma Unit, state of Paraná designed with advanced technology and high level of automation. Ready to produce paperboard with more strength and quality, such as UHT packaging, packaging for beer in cans and bottles and processed foods. With MP28, Klabin is expanding its capacity for the growing food service industry and will also service new markets by producing white paperboard. The new machine will increase Klabin total production capacity to 4.7 million tons of pulp and paper per year, consolidating the Company as one of the largest global paperboard producers. The start-up of MP28 is the main milestone of the second stage of the Puma II Project, with an investment of R$ 12.9 billion, the largest in Klabin history.
