More than offering good job opportunities, Klabin invests in the communities in which it operates so that the entire population can benefit from company initiatives in four pillars of action: Citizenship, Local Development, Environmental Education and Culture. For its employees, Klabin offers programs that include personal development and volunteer initiatives. The Klabin social actions contribute significantly to the fulfillment of the Klabin 2030 Agenda, called KSDG – Klabin Sustainable Development Goals, aiming at strengthening the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Klabin Seeding Education
The Klabin Seeding Education program has objectives aimed at improving education in public schools. Providing support to the Education Departments of the main municipalities where Klabin operates, in the Campos Gerais region (Paraná), in the cities of Correia Pinto, Lages and Otacílio Costa (Santa Catarina), and more recently in the city of Goiana in Pernambuco. The initiative provides practices that drive school management and training in the pursuit of a more equitable, more inclusive and quality education in public schools. Offering ongoing training for more than 650 teachers, provided by Specialists in the area of Education, and guidance in school management for more than 260 managers of public schools. The program was created in 2017 and has already benefited more than 38,000 students. With an initial focus on the state school system, now the program intends to strengthen the pillar of basic education, in order to support them in achieving more effective results such as those proposed by the national education assessment, namely the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB).

Terra Viva
The Klabin Terra Viva Volunteer Association, a non-profit organization, was created in 2003 and since then has worked with the objective of supporting vulnerable people in the communities where the company operates, creating awareness in society of the importance of volunteer work and the role education plays as a tool for transformation. The Association promotes actions structured on four pillars: social inclusion, health and well-being, education and culture, as well as sustainability. Among the initiatives promoted, Terra Viva invests in personal and professional training through in-person and virtual classes for youth, in addition to a number of initiatives for children, the elderly, persons with disabilities (PwD) and the LGBT community. The group is comprised of employees and former Klabin employees and their families and has already had the collaboration of more than 600 volunteers, spread across the Klabin Business Units from North to South of the country.

The Klabin Takeoff Program, is an initiative, carried out since 2013 in partnership with the Municipal Education Department of Telêmaco Borba (state of Paraná), aiming at disseminating the security culture in neighborhoods located near the Airport of Telêmaco Borba. Students aged between 7 and 10 years receive guidance and are encouraged to share the information received about appropriate behaviors with colleagues, family members, neighbors and visitors, contributing to create awareness of respect for heritage. Up to the time being, 7,559 students have participated in the program, and 584 of them have become security enforcement agents.
