Aqui, o fogo não tem vez
HERE, FIRE HAS NO PLACE
Did you know that Klabin has a system of cameras to monitor forests? They operate 24 hours a day, have a range of up to 40 kilometers, and transmit real-time images to a control room.
In addition to assisting in the care of the areas, the system brings benefits to the community by identifying fire outbreaks in neighboring territories. "It is a useful system that monitors 85% of the Klabin forests in the region." "With it, we can also help the community control forest fires that occur in areas bordering the company, either with the support of our own teams, the Fire Department, or the Civil Defense," explains the coordinator of Forest Asset Protection at Klabin, Carlos Cesar Santos.
And how does this work in practice? The cameras are installed in towers scattered throughout the forest. When it detects smoke, the system generates an alert. As soon as the incident is confirmed, Klabin sends a team to the location to control the fire and, if necessary, calls the Fire Department or Civil Defense.
