Klabin develops Growing Up Reading Project in Rio Rufino

São Paulo, March 24, 2016 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest paper producer and exporter and the leading producer of paper and board for packaging, corrugated board packaging and industrial sacks, is developing its Growing Up ReadingProject in Rio Rufino, Santa Catarina. The initiative encourages reading to children younger than six years old.

 

Developed in partnership with the NGO United Way Brasil and Instituto Avisa Lá, the initiative includes teacher training, donation of reading nooks with a collection of 450 books and storytelling workshops for parents. A total of 64 students of the school CEI Arco-Íris, located close to the city center, will benefit from the initiative.

 

The Project has already visited 16 cities in seven states where Klabin operates. The initiative has already benefited more than 300 children and is expected to reach out to 5,000 children by the end of 2016. The project has also trained more than 380 preschool professionals and donated over 10,000 books so far.
