Klabin delivers piping to improve stormwater runoff network in Poço Rico district

Otacílio Costa, January 22, 2016 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest paper producer and exporter, delivered 110 one-meter diameter, one-meter long pipes to the Municipality of Otacílio Costa. The pipes will be used to replace the current stormwater runoff tubing that stretches between the company’s Wood Yard 2 and the district of Poço Rico.

 

Due to the regions heavy rainfall, a partnership was forged with the local government to prevent any water from draining into the neighborhood located adjacent to the Wood Yard. The municipal government will be responsible for executing the construction.

 

The event to formalize the delivery was attended by the following: acting mayor of Otacílio Costa, Silvano Cardoso Antunes, secretary of public works, Edson Pasold, secretary of development, Jean Carlos Lins, Klabin executives, including José Valmir Calori, manager of Forest Operations, Mireli Moura Pitz, Forestry Environment biologist, and Marco Aurelio Assink Carvalho and Robison Fernando Scheleder da Silva, Logistics and Roads supervisors, and local residents.
