Klabin promotes Grow Up Reading Project in Reserva and Curiúva

Reserva and Curiúva, April 15, 2016 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest paper producer and exporter, will deliver in the cities of Reserva and Curiúva, both in the state of Paraná, the Grow Up Reading Project, an action that encourages reading to children up to six years of age.

 

Developed in partnership with the NGO United Way Brasil and Instituto Avisa Lá, the initiative includes training for teachers from the entire children education network, donation of reading nooks with a collection of 450 books each, and storytelling workshops for parents. A total of 967 students from the municipal schools Fundação Maria de Lourdes, Professora Alvina Prestes, CMEI Professora Maria de Lourdes and CMEI Pedacinho do Céu, located in the downtown areas of both cities, benefitted from the initiative.

 

The Project has already visited 19 cities in seven states where Klabin operates. The initiative has already benefited more than 3,000 children and is expected to reach out to 5,000 children by the end of 2016. The project has also trained more than 380 preschool professionals and donated over 10,000 books so far.
