For the First Time, Feira de Santana receives Klabin’s Caiubi Project
Feira de Santana, July 8, 2019 – On July 5, Feira de Santana hosted the first edition of the Caiubi Project, created by Klabin to train municipal school teachers and facilitators in the region. The event, held at the Auditorium of the Instituto Federal da Bahia (IFBA), was organized in partnership with the city’s Education Department, neighborhood associations and the Institute.
Teachers from the Monsenhor Jessé Torres Cunha and Professora Josenita Nery Boaventura Municipal Schools participated in a several lectures on topics related to environmental awareness as part of their training to disseminate content and implement projects in the area.
Overall, the project will train 35 teachers to implement projects with their students. Klabin will donate materials to schools to execute their proposals. Each unit will receive a kit containing a projector, DVD player and laptop for the project, in addition to corrugated board trash cans for recycling.
Caiubi Program
To spread ecological awareness concepts among teachers in the communities where it operates, Klabin launched the Caiubi Program in Paraná in 2001. Since then, the project has only grown, expanding to Santa Catarina and has so far benefitted more than 245 thousand students, 9 thousand teachers and 770 city schools in the two states.
