Klabin featured for Water Management in Exame Sustainability Guide

São Paulo, November 5, 2015 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest paper producer and exporter, received on the evening of Wednesday (4) the award for highlight in Water Management from Exame Sustainability Guide. The company was also shortlisted by the publication as one of the most sustainable in Brazil.

Klabin’s accomplishments in this segment reflect the work developed by its Units to improve the use of water resources and reduce water consumption. This was only possible through the rationalization of processes, adoption of state-of-the-art equipment and awareness-raising campaigns among employees.

Launched in 2000, this is the Guide’s 16th edition. The winning companies are selected based on a methodology developed by the Center for Sustainability Studies (GVces) at Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo (FGV-SP). GVces is also responsible for Bovespa’s Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE), which features listed companies that stand out for their strategic alignment with issues related to sustainability. The survey of more than 200 companies nationwide considers the main references of indicators for business sustainability in Brazil and in the world.

The awarding ceremony took place during a dinner at Terraço Abril, in São Paulo, and was attended by Klabin’s forest director, José Totti.
