Klabin participates in book launched at the 5th Brazilian Congress of Innovation of the CNI

Klabin, Brazil’s biggest manufacturer and exporter of packaging paper, is participating, together with 21 other large companies in the first book produced by the CNI (National Confederation of Industry), launched during the 5th Brazilian Congress of Innovation in Industry. The publication, elaborated in conjunction with MEI (Corporate Movement for Innovation) is a compilation of the methodologies encountered by the companies, the principal bottlenecks faced, the lessons learned from the process and the benefits of innovation for business and for the consumer.

Klabin is participating in the book with the case on the development of corrugated boxes for the export of fresh fruit. The product meets both the sanitary pre-requisites for export and the technical requirements, and has a differentiated design. Produced at the company’s Goiana Plant, in Pernambuco, the packaging presents features which help to make it competitive, such as a reduction in the consumption of electrical energy, due to faster refrigeration of the fruit; increase in useful space and high strength, which maintains the product intact throughout transportation up to the end consumer.

Another important feature of the product is how it helps small producers to get into the export chain of Brazilian fruit, since these boxes can be assembled and filled manually.

The book is a compilation of 22 cases of innovation of the selected companies and was handed out to participants of the 5th Brazilian Congress of Innovation of the CNI.
