Minas Gerais, June 2, 2016 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest paper producer and exporterand the leading manufacturer of paper and board for packaging, corrugated board packaging and industrial bags, presents its solution for specialty coffees at the “Dia de Campo” event organized by Procafé Foundation at Fazenda Experimental de Varginha in the state of Minas Gerais.

Being a member of Brazil Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA), the event sponsor, Klabin has the opportunity to showcase its paper bags for green coffee beans. The new packaging is made from high-strength extensible paper and can be printed upon in up to eight colors. The bags have a storage capacity of 30 kilograms, provide high barrier and protection against light and come with the “Easy Open” system, which makes it easier for consumers to open and store the product. These innovations help to ensure product safety and quality, while preserving the original characteristics of coffee.

The event, targeted at coffee producers and technical experts, features practical field demonstrations and a lecture on the outlook for Brazilian agriculture in the coming years. To participate, take one kilo of non-perishable food to the event and register directly at the venue.
