Klabin included in Corporate Sustainability Index of B3 for sixth straight year

São Paulo, November 30, 2018 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper, the only company in the country to offer a one-stop shop solution in hardwood, softwood and fluff pulp, and the leader in corrugated board packaging and industrial bags markets, has been included in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3) for the sixth consecutive year. This recognition is the result of intense efforts employed by the company, which has sustainability as one of its main pillars of business management.

The goal of the Index is to create an investment environment that is compatible with the demands of sustainable development and to encourage ethical responsibility through good business practices of companies eligible for inclusion in the portfolio. To be included in the ISE, companies must stand out for good sustainability practices, which are evidenced through questionnaires and assessment of documentary evidence that attest to the quality of management and control of the issues addressed.

The portfolio of ISE’s 14th edition will be effective from January 7, 2019 through January 3, 2020, and includes 35 stocks from 30 companies. The election of components is assured independently by KPMG using the methodology developed by the School of Business Management of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-EAESP), and their performance is constantly monitored by ISE to uphold the standard of the index. In this year’s edition, the 181 companies with the 200 most liquid shares on B3 were invited.
