São Paulo, October 24, 2019 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest packaging paper producer and exporter, was the winner in four categories at the 2019 Sector Highlights Awards organized by the Brazilian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (ABTCP): Paper Producer, Innovation (Technology R&D), Social Responsibility and Sustainability. The awards were handed over during the 52nd International Pulp & Paper Congress held on October 23 in São Paulo.

The company’s award-winning cases this year are: “Circular Economy – Direct purchase of fresh produce from producers under the “Social Forests” Program by Klabin’s Ecological Park,” in the Social Responsibility category; “Puma II Project – The future of packaging paper production at Klabin,” in the Packaging Paper Producer category; “Inauguration of Nature Interpretation Center at the Natural Heritage Private Reserve (RPPN) Serra da Farofa Complex,” in the Sustainability category and “Pinus maximinoi: The innovative differential of research in Brazil’s pulp & paper sector,” in the Innovation (Technology R&D) category.
Organized by ABTCP, the congress will be held on the theme “Humanized Technology: products, innovation, design and culture in industry 4.0,” until October 24 at the Transamérica Hotel. The event will bring together specialists to discuss issues and trends related to the Pulp & Paper sector. During the three-day event, Klabin will participate actively in panel discussions and lectures.
