Klabin organizes environmental awareness action in Correia Pinto

Santa Catarina, August 28, 2019 – Over the last week, Klabin has carried out an important action to raise awareness on environmental preservation, given its firm commitment to disseminate knowledge on the proper disposal of waste in local communities.

Around 1,300 public school students were impacted by a theatrical intervention featuring Captain Recycling, an important ally in the planet’s preservation. In addition to the play, students received educational comic books and were invited to become disseminators of their newly acquired knowledge.

“It was a day full of information and fun in which both students and teachers participated actively. This action for the community will certainly yield good results,” said Joanita Flesch, a teacher at the Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres Elementary School.

The heroin was created by the company to help raise awareness among children.  In addition to Santa Catarina, the play was presented in the state of Paraná, where Klabin also has operations.

The Klabin action is aligned with the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to help ensure a more sustainable future for the communities near its operations.
