Klabin conducts awareness campaign on PR-160 highway
Paraná, April 28, 2017 – Klabin conducted yesterday (Apr.27) a campaign to raise awareness on road safety. In partnership with the State Highway Patrol, and Tucumann and CSC Engenharia, the companies engaged to carry out improvements on the PR-160 highway, Klabin gathered a team of employees from the Monte Alegre, Puma and Forest Units to guide drivers passing by the stretches on which work is in progress on a third lane and on expansion of the two lanes on the bridge over the Tibagi River in Telêmaco Borba, Paraná.
The team distributed to the drivers leaflets containing precautions to be taken by truck, car, bus and van drivers and motorcycle riders when passing by the region where works are in progress, such as increasing their attention, always observing the signage and speed limits and, especially, not allowing passengers to get out of their vehicles. During the maintenance period, traffic in the area flows on a single lane for most of the time, following a stop-and-go system that entails waiting up to ten minutes at the most.
The improvements to the PR-160 highway, which were approved and are supervised by the Highways Department of the state of Paraná (DER-PR), will benefit the population in the region, mainly contributing to the smooth flow and safety of traffic, as well as pedestrian crossings.
