Telêmaco Borba, September 26, 2017 – Last Friday (Sep. 22), Klabin turned out the second batch of students of its Decolar Project, the initiative aimed at disseminating the culture ofsafety in the neighborhoods surrounding the Monte Alegre Airport in Telêmaco Borba, Paraná. The ceremony was attended by 193 fifth graders from five municipal schools, who received certificates as Safety Inspection Agents and presented poems and parodies to demonstrate what they learnt over the past four years.

Students joined the Decolar Project in the second grade and, during this period until the fifth grade, they were guided by Klabin employees and shooters from the Telêmaco Borba Army Training Corps regarding the proper behavior to be followed by the community near the airport in order to ensure the safety of the population and to disseminate the concepts of preservation and respect to local property. Children, for their part, have the mission of sharing this information and raising awareness among their families, neighbors and other locals about the importance of the initiative for the whole city.

The passing out ceremony was held at the auditorium of the Municipal Education Department and, in recognition and acknowledgement of the commitment of students throughout the project, it was attended by Flight Lieutenant Ricardo Luis Pereira, representing the Integrated Center for Air Defense and Air Traffic Control (Cindacta), the Telêmaco Borba Municipal Secretary of Education, Rosymeire Barbosa Siqueira Carneiro, members of the Army Training Corps, teachers and pedagogical coordinators from public schools.

The Decolar Project was launched in 2013 in partnership with the Municipal Education Department and the Army Training Corps of Telêmaco Borba. Since its first edition, 3,929 students have been trained in the classroom to multiply their knowledge across the community, bringing total educational interactions to over 34,000.
