Paraná, August 25, 2017 – Tomorrow (Aug. 26), Klabin will inaugurate its Vila Nova Neighborhood Unit, in Ortigueira, Paraná. The space, built by Klabin with its own resources, combines leisure, recreation and services to the community, with areas designed to promote social interaction and encourage the relationship between members of the neighboring communities of the Vila Nova neighborhood.

The Unit’s more than 3,000 sq. m has booths that sell a variety of products, such as fruits and vegetables and handcrafts, a games area, outdoor gym facilities, leisure areas and a children playground. The structure was designed to create income for the community and encourage the interaction among members of the local communities.

“Since the construction of the plant, we’ve been paying a lot of attention to the city’s potential, as it is home not only to the Puma Unit, but to many of our employees as well. The region chosen to receive the Neighborhood Unit is one of the developing areas of Ortigueira, and the multi-purpose space will benefit the entire community, in addition to offering increased quality of life, income-generation and service opportunities for the neighborhood,” explained Sadi Carlos de Oliveira, Pulp Industrial Director at Klabin.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by the city’s Mayor Lourdes Banach, local authorities and representatives of Klabin. In addition to the official ceremony, the event will include family activities from 8 a.m., such as music, children’s games, a produce market, popcorn and cotton candy carts. After the project is delivered by Klabin this Saturday, the Vila Nova Neighborhood Unit will be managed by the Ortigueira Municipality. ?
