Klabin delivers construction works of Telêmaco Borba Field Hospital

Paraná, May 25, 2020 – Klabin concluded on May 22, the construction of the Telêmaco Borba Field Hospital on the premises of the city’s Regional Hospital, which now has 10 ICU beds and 40 infirmary beds ready to serve the people of the seven towns in the 21st Health Region during the new coronavirus pandemic.

 

Apart from the construction works, the company carried out electrical and hydraulic works and acquired equipment for the ICU and infirmary beds. In order to deliver all these, the Inter-Sector Committee on Combatting COVID-19, consisting of members of the Telêmaco Borba Health Department, the 21st Health Region, the Municipal Health Council, Doutor Feitosa Institute, Moura Hospital and Klabin, visited the facilities at the field hospital complex and is preparing to welcome the State Health Department this week to sign the agreement of donation to the State Government of Paraná.

 

“Klabin believes that this support to the region’s healthcare system is essential for the fight against COVID-19. This donation follows our Sustainability Policy and embodies our activities as a corporate citizen,” said Arthur Canhisares, Paper Industrial Officer at Klabin.

 

The hospital is managed by the State Government of Paraná, which, after a public bid, will select the institution that will manage the complex. The seven towns that form the 21st Health Region are Curiúva, Imbaú, Ortigueira, Reserva, Telêmaco Borba, Tibagi and Ventania.
