Klabin donates 26,000 boxes to the 2017 Winter Coat Campaign
São Paulo, May 25, 2017 – For the 16th consecutive year, Klabin, Brazil’s largest paper producer and exporter and the country’s leading manufacturer of paper and board for packaging, corrugated board packaging and industrial bags, will donate 26,000 corrugated board boxes that will receive donations from all over the state of São Paulo under the 2017 Winter Coat Campaign. In all, the company has donated 335,937 boxes to the initiative.
At a ceremony held at the Bandeirantes Palace, Klabin was honored for its longstanding and solid partnership with the Social Solidarity Fund of the State of São Paulo (Fussesp), which organizes the campaign. On the occasion, Eduardo Lafer Piva, member of the Board of Directors of Klabin, received the “Rosa de Solidariedade” Medal in honor of his father, Dr. Pedro Franco Piva, who passed away in February this year.
Klabin’s corrugated board boxes, which are produced from renewable raw materials from planted forests, will be placed in busy locations such as pharmacies, supermarkets, schools, condominiums, as well as public and private companies. The campaign will run for two months and the clothes collected will be distributed to shelters, hospitals, institutions registered with the Social Solidarity Fund and cities across the State.
During the event, an animation short film entitled “Malu Moletom” was shown to raise people’s awareness on the cause.
