Klabin donates R$1.8 million to projects for the elderly, children and teens

Initiative, which benefits municipalities where the company operates, will support the Municipal Funds for Children and Adolescents (FIA) and Municipal Funds for the Rights of the Elderly

São Paulo, January 11, 2024 - Klabin has donated around R$1.8 million to initiatives targeted at the development of children and adolescents and support for the elderly in 39 cities across the states of São Paulo, Goiás, Ceará, Amazonas, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. This action is aligned with its Social Responsibility and ESG strategy, and contributes to the grassroots development of communities as part of Klabin Sustainable Development Goals (KODS), which are based on the UN 2030 Agenda.

After a thorough analysis, Klabin deposited the funds directly into the accounts of the Municipal Funds for Children and Adolescents (FIA) and Municipal Funds for the Rights of the Elderly, ensuring maximum transparency in the process. Each beneficiary entity will have the autonomy to use the funds as it deems appropriate to meet the specific needs of its target public.

Klabin will monitor each action to make sure that the initiatives proposed by the entities are effectively implemented. Uilson Paiva, manager of Social Responsibility and Community Relations at Klabin, emphasizes the company’s commitment to the communities. “Practicing social responsibility in communities where we operate is our company’s policy and doing that through monetary support for children, adolescents and the elderly is a major driver of well-being of the population living in these municipalities.”
