The initiative contributes to promoting environmental education for children and adolescents in the municipalities where it operates

São Paulo, September 18, 2024 – The Klabin Caiubi Program has just arrived in the city of Suzano to train teachers and pedagogical coordinators from the municipal schools, as well as representatives from the Department of Education and the Department of the Environment. The objective of the program is to train professionals to promote educational actions with their students to disseminate knowledge and encourage sustainable practices from childhood. The project is in partnership with the municipal schools Professora Neyde Vidal, Lídia Lima da Silva, and Paulo Henrique Barreiros.

In the first meeting, the professionals were able to learn about water security and the importance of water preservation and the rational use of this essential resource. Held at the Mirambava Educational Complex with the support of Ecolab and Sabesp, the training valued the initiatives carried out by the Company to ensure the best use of water and emphasized how the sustainable management of water resources helps to ensure its availability, quality, and accessibility in the present and in the future.

In the second meeting, the main topic was solid waste management. Klabin professionals spoke about selective collection and the technologies available in the country for waste treatment. Held at the Mirambava Educational Complex, the event was supported by Digimed, which promotes customized solutions in the areas of environmental monitoring and waste classification, and Essencis, a company that provides environmental solutions for waste treatment.

The activities were planned to be replicated in the classroom by teachers, promoting learning in a playful and engaging way. The city of Suzano is the 35th in the country to receive the project, which emerged 24 years ago with the objective of disseminating awareness among children and young people about the importance of environmental preservation.
