Klabin promotes knowledge trail about the importance of environmental conservation
The Initiative highlights the company's environmental actions and promotes community awareness about caring for natural resources.
Paraná, June 13, 2024 - In Environment Month, Klabin will promote an action open to the entire community of Telêmaco Borba, featuring a knowledge trail where visitors can better understand the Company's initiatives for the conservation of native forests and water. The activities are scheduled for June 14, in the Marinha neighborhood, at 9 a.m.
During the trail, there will be posters with interesting facts and detailed information about the company's efforts to protect the environment, such as Klabin's pioneering spirit in the adoption of hydrosolidarity forest management, a program that seeks to balance forest production and water availability, prioritizing the drainage basins that supply the communities, or the identification and mapping of 941 species of animals in the company's forest areas, 29 of which are listed as endangered. At the end of the journey, participants will be able to take home a native tree seedling. More than ten different species will be distributed, including legumes and fruit-bearing plants, such as sibipiruna, jacarandá, guabiroba, cherry and yellow cattley guava.
To Uilson Paiva, Klabin's Social Responsibility and Community Relations manager, this event is a valuable opportunity to present to the residents of Telêmaco Borba the initiatives developed by the company for sustainability and environmental conservation, as well as reinforce the message about the importance of environmental care. "Initiatives like these demonstrate Klabin's commitment to the region, addressing questions and promoting citizenship and environmental awareness, which are fundamental values for the company and covered by Klabin Objectives for Sustainable Development (KODS)," he said.
