Klabin and Figueira municipal government develop initiative  targeted at students from public schools

Nearly 1,200 students participated in educational activities about safety and learned about the Company's operations.

Paraná, June 12, 2024 - Committed to the development and safety of local communities, Klabin, in partnership with the municipal government of Figueira, conducted an initiative on June 10 and 11 for about 1,200 students from five public schools in Figueira. Through conversations with company representatives and interactive activities, students aged 4 to 17 had the opportunity to learn more about the Company's operations in Paraná. They also revisited concepts and practices that promote safe behavior while navigating the city's streets and avenues, contributing to the development of conscientious citizens and fostering a sense of responsibility.

During the action, the students also learned about the Company's production process, from forest plantations and care for the environment and neighboring communities to the production of pulp and paper. Furthermore, several precautions were emphasized to ensure greater safety for city residents, especially concerning traffic.

"The active involvement of schools in awareness initiatives is crucial for shaping engaged, critical and responsible citizens. By educating students about safe behaviors, we are not only reinforcing a culture of respect and responsibility but also empowering them to be agents of change in their communities,” said Uilson Paiva, Social Responsibility and Community Relations manager at Klabin.

The mayor of Figueira, José Carlos Contiero, also believes in education as the cornerstone of a safer community. "This knowledge is not limited to the classroom; it extends beyond the school, positively influencing the behavior of students at home. Therefore, the engagement of schools fosters a more aware and compassionate society overall."
