Ortigueira Technical School opens 35 vacancies for new course on Apprenticeship in Forestry Equipment Operations, with support from Klabin

This will be the first batch of its kind in Paraná

 

Paraná, February 7, 2024 –  The State Center for Professional and Agricultural Education of Ortigueira, in partnership with Klabin, is welcoming applications for the Apprenticeship in Forestry Equipment Operations program.  This will be the first batch of this new learning model, which includes both theory and practical training, and is targeted at youth aged 18 to 22. The course is free and vacancies are limited. Registrations end on February 12.


Offered by the Paraná State Education Department (SEED), with the curriculum and contents prepared by Klabin and SEED, the 18-month course will offer theory and practical classes at the State Center for Professional and Agricultural Education of Ortigueira. During the course, students will acquire the skills required for working in forestry harvest operations, and also learn about planning, maintenance, monitoring of activities and operating large machines in compliance with safety standards.


Applicants must have completed high school and successful candidates living in Telêmaco Borba and Imbaú will receive a transportation allowance. Having a Category B driving license is desirable.
The key responsibilities of a Forestry Technician Apprentice include operating forestry equipment, keeping bulletins and daily production reports on working hours, number of plots, operators and production, planning work routines in forestry areas, inspecting and reporting defects in machines, preparing reports on mechanical breakdowns, carrying out minor maintenance repairs, assisting in preventive and corrective maintenance, acquiring knowledge about the equipment’s capacity and its behavior in different scenarios, all while prioritizing safety in all their actions.
