Klabin's sustainable practices are once again recognized internationally

Company was the only one in Latin America to obtain the “Triple A” rating in the CDP assessment and to feature among the Top 5% S&P Global CSA Score companies in The Sustainability Yearbook 2024

São Paulo, February 8, 2024 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper and sustainable solutions in paper packaging, has once again received two of the leading global honors for good sustainability practices. The company was the only one in Latin America to obtain the “Triple A” rating from CDP and to be listed among the Top 5% most sustainable companies in The Sustainability Yearbook 2024.

According to CDP, a global non-profit organization dedicated to disclosing environmental management and impacts, Klabin was rated A in the three categories it was assessed: climate change, water security and forests. For the third straight year, the Company was the only one in Latin America to obtain the Triple A rating, and was one of the 10 companies to obtain the highest score from among 23,000 companies assessed globally.

The methodology used by CDP considers diverse aspects, such as the scope of data disclosure, initiatives to raise awareness and manage environmental risks, and demonstrated best practices associated with environmental leadership. CDP ratings are designed to encourage the journey of pursuing better initiatives, transparency and disclosure of environmental issues, which are so relevant today.

This week, Klabin was also featured in The Sustainability Yearbook, a global sustainability ranking compiled by S&P Global (CSA), for the fourth straight year. The Company is one of the Top 5% S&P Global CSA Score companies, which attests to its solid track record in sustainability. In the assessment, which also serves as the basis for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Klabin scored 84, being the only Brazilian company in the Packaging category to be part of this select group. Over 9,000 companies from 62 sectors were assessed for the 2024 edition of the ranking.

"The commitment to best ESG practices is the foundation of Klabin's operations. These recent honors attest to the effectiveness of our sustainability strategy and further encourage us to continuously streamline our processes and solutions. We are committed to leading by example and driving sustainable development in all the fronts we operate," said Francisco Razzolini, director of Industrial Technology, Innovation, Sustainability and Projects at Klabin.
