The purpose of the event is to value and recognize good practices at carriers that provide services to the Company and underline the importance of logistics security across its production chain
 

São Paulo, December 28, 2022 –  Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper and sustainable solutions in paper packaging, honored the twelve best logistics suppliers during the Best Carriers awards, organized by the Company’s National Logistics and Logistics Negotiations areas. The event was held in São Paulo, in which 50 guests and Klabin employees participated. The event also featured a lecture on road security and a presentation about Klabin’s strategies for the coming years.

The awards recognized the best practices in ten categories, covering representatives from nearly 35 partner carriers of Klabin. The winners in each category were:

Best Regional Carrier of Santa Catarina: Cooperoc 
Best Regional Carrier of Paraná: Zappellini 
Best Regional Carrier of the North and Northeast Regions: Costa Teixeira 
Best Regional Carrier of the South and Southeast Regions: Dalferr
Best Nationwide Carrier: Costa Teixeira 
Best Nationwide in Operational Safety and Health: Dalferr
Best Regional Manager of Santa Catarina: Jeferson Carlos de Campos (Cooperoc) 
Best Regional Manager of Paraná: João Paulo Aleixo (Costa Teixeira) 
Best Regional Manager of the North and Northeast Regions: Yasmin Pflueger Borges (BBM) 
Best Regional Manager of the South and Southeast Regions: Lucas Lunardeli (Transrampazo) 

“Our National Logistics and Logistics Negotiations areas are engaged in stressing the importance of good security practices across our suppliers chain, as is done throughout Klabin’s production chain. Thus, being able to build increasingly closer relations with our partners and recognizing them for their performance is very important for us. The Best Carriers awards returned to the in-person format this year and we plan to continue this format over the coming years”, said Gustavo Pasqualin, National Logistics Manager. 

This is the 4th edition of the event, whose purpose is to build and strengthen the importance of these partnerships for the Company’s business, and to strengthen good security practices in the sector. 
 

Sustainable KM

In addition to the Best Carriers awards, Klabin also organizes every year Sustainable KM, a program exclusively for recognizing its third-party truck drivers. Sustainable KM honors drivers that stand out in road security, since valuing life is a priority at Klabin, and drivers are essential for transporting its products and raw materials. To stand out, professionals must fulfill three criteria related to speed and working hours, accident rates and the tracking of vehicles. Drivers who meet the three security criteria determined in the program (speed, zero accidents and tracking) are awarded every six months, in July and December. At the end of the year, the best professional in each region and the top scorer in the overall ranking also receive a bonus. Since the launch of the program, more than 2,500 drivers have received the award, which offers a special bonus to the top two places. In this edition, the winners were: 

1st placed driver in Sustainable KM: Vicente José da Silva (Bobig)

2nd placed driver in Sustainable KM: Edevan de Jesus de Paula (Del Pozo)
