Klabin promotes planting of native seedlings to celebrate Cidade Park’s anniversary
The action took place on October 24, with the participation of the Monte Alegre Scout Group (GEMA), children from municipal schools and representatives of the Telêmaco Borba Municipal Government
Paraná, October 24, 2022 – The Cidade Park, in Telêmaco Borba, completed five years this October. To celebrate the date, Klabin planted 200 native seedlings today (24).
Children from public preschool and kindergarten and members of the Monte Alegre Scout Group (GEMA) participated in the planting of seedlings. “Such an initiative is important because it has a major impact. Learning how to plant seedlings, the benefits of this action and the reason for it, those are lessons we bring into the future,” emphasized Nasser El Hayek, member of the Scout Group that participated in the planting.
Also, representatives from the Municipal Office of Urban Planning, Housing and Environment were present. “The environmental awareness of children guarantees a more sustainable future,” said Nando Matos, municipal secretary.
Inaugurated in 2017 by Kablin, in partnership with Telêmaco Borba Municipal Government, the Cidade Park is an initiative in connection with the company’s Social and Environmental Action Plan, developed with the participation of the community during the implementation of Puma Project I, Klabin’s Unit located in Ortigueira.
The Park, whose area is equivalent to 35 soccer fields, is a sports and leisure complex with walking path, bike path, lake, lookout, soccer field, outdoor gym, playground and open space for cultural shows and events. Uilson Paiva, manager of Social Responsibility and Community Relations at Klabin, emphasizes the company’s commitment to the nearby communities. “The permanent maintenance of the Cidade Park reinforces Klabin’s commitment to the quality of life of the population from the municipalities where the company has operations.”
