With record visitation, the event enabled client prospecting, relationship and brand exposure

Lages, October 24, 2022 – Klabin, Brazil's largest packaging paper producer and exporter of packaging paper and sustainable solutions in paper packaging, participated for the second time in Expolages 2022, a 100-year-old event that takes place in Lages, Santa Catarina, focusing on agribusiness. The Company’s booth highlighted its forestry initiatives and projects that promote sustainability for visitors who attended the four days of event. Klabin, which has been present in Santa Catarina for over 60 years, has a forest area in the state that spans 39 municipalities. 
 
The showroom prepared by the company for Expolages visitors showcased products derived from its planted forests, such as corrugated board packaging and items made from pulp, such as toilet paper and sanitary napkins, as well as industrial bags produced in the Lages Unit, the world’s largest bag plant.
 
Alessandro Cordova, Klabin’s Forestry Business manager for Santa Catarina, explained that the company’s presence in the event aims at strengthening its connection with the region’s community. “Being at Expolages is very important to us, as it gives us the possibility of presenting our solutions and operational initiatives, as well as our sustainability efforts, to a highly qualified audience. One of the initiatives we presented at the event is “Plant with Klabin,” a program that aims to stimulate income generation for rural producers by integrating the forest with their activities,” he said. 
 
Expolages was held in the last two weeks of October, at Parque de Exposições Conta Dinheiro, in Lages, Santa Catarina, with the presence of 400 exhibitors, 90 companies and over 20,000 visitors. The event was created in the 1920s, with the goal of exhibiting animals of European breeds and, in 1939, it became part of the schedule of events of the Lages Rural Association. The success of the event contributed to its development, and it became multi-sector in 1970, gathering various sectors and participants, which has been creating business opportunities for participants.
