Klabin announces winners of the first “Klabin Suppliers of the Year Award”

The winners were announced on September 21 during INOVA Klabin, held at the Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo

 

During INOVA Klabin, held on September 21 at the Ibirapuera Park  in São Paulo, 19 partners of the Company received the Suppliers of the Year Award

 

São Paulo, September 26, 2022 - – Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper and sustainable solutions in paper packaging, gave away the first “Suppliers of the Year Award” during INOVA Klabin. The Company honored 19 partners that stood out in 2021 and 2022 in their supply categories, as part of an initiative, above all, to encourage continuous improvement across the entire chain. 


The award ceremony was divided into five main categories and had two special topics: Sustainability and Innovation.  Three suppliers in each category were recognized on the following aspects: Raw Materials, Forestry, Industry, Logistics and Corporate Services, covering partners from diverse operating segments and regions in Brazil and other countries. In Sustainability, the Company recognized three suppliers, one each in the  Product and Equipment Manufacturing, Services and Small Companies subcategories. One was honored in the Innovation category.


At the start of the event, Sandro Ávila, Forestry Director at Klabin, explained how this project was conceived. “Implementing sustainable actions is an experience that transforms the lives of people” It was with this vision that we launched an important initiative five years ago,” he said. 


“Klabin Suppliers of the Year Award recognizes the enormous contribution of these companies that are always with us, further strengthening these partnerships and fostering the best practices to ensure increasingly greater alignment with the values of ethics, transparency and respect for the environment advocated by the company. We want to collaborate with the development of our suppliers to make our chain increasingly more sustainable,” said Roberto Bisogni, director of Operational Planning, Logistics, Procurement and IT at Klabin.

About INOVA Klabin

Klabin organized the 5th edition of INOVA Klabin on September 21 at the Ibirapuera Park  in São Paulo. During the nine-hour event, visitors participated in several exclusive and immersive activities that connected innovation and sustainability. The agenda featured renowned panelists and guests, such as John Elkington, considered the “father of sustainability,” chef Bel Coelho, artist and technologist Edson Pavoni and the Heliópolis Symphony Orchestra, which performed for the audience a musical piece inspired by the Company’s campaign to celebrate Arbor Day.
