With assistance from Klabin, Telêmaco Borba will have a Military Police school

Company will provide accommodation for the course that will train 90 military police officers and firefighters for towns in the region

Paraná, August 10, 2022-  With assistance from Klabin, which will offer its facilities, Telêmaco Borba will host the Military Police School to train 90 new police officers and firefighters who will serve the towns in the region.  Reaffirming its commitment to community development in the regions where it operates, the company provided its Residencial São Francisco facility in Telêmaco Borba, which served as the accommodation for workers at the Puma II Project, for the Curso de Praças 2022 program.  The site has all the necessary infrastructure for classrooms, as well as administrative spaces, a dining hall and housing units. The training is for civilians approved in the selection process for a career as police officers or firefighters in Paraná.

During the training period, Klabin will also pay for a few support services and the electricity to keep the facilities in operation for the safety and comfort of the trainees.  The training program is expected to be completed in 10 months.  The new police officers will join the 26th Police Battalion of Telêmaco Borba, which also serves the towns of Ortigueira, Curiúva, Sapopema, Tibagi, Reserva, Imbaú, Figueira, Ventania and Cândido de Abreu.

“The creation of the 26th Military Police Battalion was one of the biggest achievements in the region resulting from the Puma Project.  The organization of the Police school here is important for the battalion to have new police officers and an adequate police force to serve the entire region,” says Uilson Paiva, Community Relations manager at Klabin.  The company supported the previous edition of the school, organized in 2017, also in Telêmaco Borba.
