First robotics lab in Campos Gerais region is part of a complete renovation that reaffirms the school’s importance for the town

 Paraná, June 9, 2022 - Klabin, in partnership with the Paraná State Education Department, carried out a broad renovation of the Wolff Klabin State School in Telêmaco Borba (PR). Improvements were made in the school’s landscaping, the indoor multi-sport court, bathrooms and teachers’ room, air conditioners were installed in classrooms. Also installed were the closed circuit TV and fire alarm systems. Also, as part of its commitment to the development of local communities, the Company built the first innovation laboratory of the public school system in Campos Gerais.  

The lab aims to promote technology in education and bring innovation to traditional disciplines. With cutting-edge equipment, such as 3D printer and vinyl and laser cutters, and designed to increase student-teacher interaction, the lab contributes to the computer literacy of students by including technology and innovation in traditional disciplines and enabling the execution of multi-disciplinary projects.

“It was a surprise to return to school and notice so many positive changes. In addition to the convenience, such as studying in air conditioned classrooms, the lab also features new educational tools that will enhance our learning process. I am thrilled with the changes in the school and look forward to develop many projects in the robotics lab,” said Gabriel da Silva Freitas, a 2nd year high school student at Wolff Klabin.

To ensure the success of the project, in addition to the strategically conceived layout and technology equipment, the teachers are receiving specialized educational support to prepare them to use the lab and its structure in the best possible manner by optimizing all the available resources.
“The improvements made to the school’s infrastructure will contribute to the present and future of our students. The renovated bathrooms, air conditioners and multi-sport court, for example, will improve their daily well-being.  The innovation lab will enable students to put theory into practice and help them to develop new skills, thus preparing them for the future,” said Ionara Jakovacz, principal of the Wolff Klabin State School. The lab also received consulting services in 2020 under Klabin’s Sowing Education Program, which focuses on streamlining the school management processes with support from experts. 

According to Uilson Paiva, community relations manager at Klabin, the Company believes that constant investment in education is key for the development of communities. “The innovation lab and the various improvements to the school exemplify our commitment to producing positive impacts on the regions where we operate,” he added.
