Santa Catarina, June 1, 2022 – Last week, Klabin participated at the 28th Ecology Expression Awards, winning the “Green Wave” trophy for its initiative “Production, conservation and monitoring of water in forest mosaic management,” implemented in Ponte Alta, Santa Catarina. The awards ceremony was held as part of the Sustainable Management Forum held in Florianópolis, attended by representatives from environmental bodies and organizations in the state. 
 
At the event, the company was represented by Mireli Pitz Floriani, sustainability consultant at Klabin, and Mariane Bueno de Camargo, forest researcher at Klabin, who received the trophy from Daniel Vinicius Netto, chairman of the Environmental Institute of Santa Catarina (IMA). 
 

The winning initiative maintains experimental micro basins in the areas reforested with pine and eucalyptus trees and native forests to generate data on the hydrological functioning of the sustainable management of forest plantations. Klabin, which is recognized globally for its commitment to preserving the flora and fauna and for pioneering the mosaic planting system in Brazil, has three manufacturing units and the forest operation in Santa Catarina.
