Klabin commemorates 123rd anniversary with digital campaign highlighting its long history

Action includes a gallery of special photos created through the eyes of an artist specializing in colorizing antique photographs

São Paulo, April 20, 2022 – Past and present shown side by side, with an eye on the future. That is the tone adopted by Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper and paper packaging, to commemorate this year its long history of 123 years, which includes a digital anniversary campaign spotlighting its innovation. Marina Amaral, a digital colorist who specializes in adding color to black and white photographs, was invited to curate a gallery of special photographs. The product of this work, which breathes new life into records from the past, can be seen on the commemorative landing page of the company’s official website.

The company also presents digital artwork showing the Klabin of the past alongside the company today to visually portray its journey over the years. The content will be posted on Klabin’s Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn profiles and be featured in a special digital action for clients and employees. “We are a 123-year-old company that over time has consolidated its operations and closely followed the transformations in society, while constantly adapting to get where it is today. It would be impossible to think about Klabin’s future with the bright prospects we enjoy without also thinking about the solid path that we have laid over the decades. And our campaign comes precisely to share this message with the general public that is part of this history, which use our packaging and other solutions in their daily lives,” said Carime Kanbour, Klabin’s Communication, Brand & Reputation manager.

Cherishing our history to guide our future
For over a century, Klabin’s history has often intertwined with that of the development of Brazil’s industrial sector, starting with the consolidation of the country’s pulp and paper industry. To perpetuate this journey, the company inaugurated, over 30 years ago, in Jundiaí, São Paulo, the Klabin Documentation & Memory Center, a space open to the public that features a well-preserved documental archive with textual, photographic, iconographic, audiovisual and museological records of priceless historical value.

“The wealth of the documents archived and systematized helps not only to preserve the Company’s memory, but also to tell the story of the key steps in the evolution of Brazil’s pulp and paper industry, which is critical to the country’s economic development,” added Carime.
