Paraná, April 12, 2022 - Today (April 12), the Monte Alegre Unit launches the procedures for restarting the mill and the gradual demobilization of companies providing services for the maintenance shutdown that began on April 5.  With the scheduled conclusion of maintenance shutdown on Saturday (April 16), the machinery, ovens, boilers, digesters and other equipment will be restarted, which could generate the characteristic noise and odor in the vicinity of the mill.  However, the company reiterates that there is no risk to the health of people or the environment.
 

The inspection and maintenance works conducted during this period are standard procedures carried out by industry to ensure the safety of operations, the employees who work at the mill and the surrounding community in order to deploy new technologies and other improvements to further enhance the quality of the production process in line with the Regulatory Norms (NRs) and best practices of the sector.

 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS - During the period, strict safety and health protocols were implemented, such as physical distancing, mandatory use of masks, washing of hands, measurement of temperature at the entrance to the mill and the monitoring of symptoms.  All these precautions will continue until the demobilization is concluded.
