To help combat Covid-19, Klabin donates CRP tests to Otacílio Costa and Correia Pinto

Santa Catarina, March 9, 2022 - Klabin remains active and committed to initiatives that help contain transmission of the novel coronavirus, supporting the communities near its operations. Monitoring closely the increase in Covid-19 cases, the Company donated last week CRP tests to the cities of Otacílio Costa and Correia Pinto, in Santa Catarina state. The Maintenance coordinator of the Otacílio Costa Unit, Anderson da Cunha, represented the Company during the delivery of 1,400 tests directly to the city’s mayor, Fabiano Baldessa, while the Correia Pinto Unit was represented by the Communication analyst, Ariana Paz Costa, who delivered 1,000 tests to that city’s mayor, Edilson Germiniani.

The agenda to promote public health and well-being is a priority for the Company, which has been monitoring closely the increase in cases of the novel coronavirus in the regions where it operates. During the delivery of tests, Mayor Otacílio Costa emphasized Klabin’s constant participation in initiatives to support the city’s needs, describing the Company as responsive and proactive in promoting quality of life in the community.

“Knowing the importance of participating in the effort to contain Covid-19, Klabin acquired these tests to help identify the disease and increase the capacity of the cities of Otacílio Costa and Correia Pinto to provide rapid healthcare services. Through this initiative, we want to reinforce our full support to the communities during these times,” said the coordinator.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Klabin already has allocated over R$36 million to initiatives for combating Covid-19 in the country, and has been involved on other fronts of the effort, either through financial contributions or mobilizing various resources and experiences, using its Research & Development area and facilitating imports of products to support health, social assistance and income generation, always prioritizing the care of its neighboring communities.
