Environmental Military Police and Klabin organize camp for students of the Environmental Protectors program

Santa Catarina, October 16, 2017 – On October 7 and 8, the Environmental Military Police organized a camp for the Environmental Protectors group supported by Klabin, at SESCPousadaRural in Lages, Santa Catarina. With activities that combined fun and practical application of the knowledge acquired during the course, the program gathered 51 students aged between 12 and 14, and brought to the fore values such as team spirit, helping others and commitment. The event was attended by the parents of students, monitors and environmental police officers.

 

With almost 24 hours of activities, the participants went through diverse group activities for socialization of batches, as well as environmental education activities and competitions, such as Treasure Hunt with treks and charades; the Mascot Rescue and Pie in the Face, with questions about fauna and flora. They also underwent Hearing, Visual, Olfactory and Tactile (HVOT) acuity exercises, experiencing adverse situations in a forest environment, and attended lectures, theater plays and parodies.

 

The Environmental Protectors program, sponsored by Klabin, is organized by the Environmental Military Police and encourages respect to people and the environment, in addition to social development and exercise of citizenship. Middle school students receive theoretical and practical training on preservation of nature, environmental law, aspects of local flora and fauna, first aid, civic sense, morals and ethics.

 

The graduation ceremony of the Lages Environmental Protectors class scheduled for November this year.
