Klabin Sowing Education invites parents and students to a livestream to honor teachers

Paraná, October 14, 2020 – Investing in education is part of Klabin’s Sustainability Policy. And the Sowing Education program is focusing a spotlight on activities to support the administration of public schools in our region. To commemorate Teacher’s Day, the company is inviting communities to participate in the 2nd Livestream of Klabin Sowing Education, which will be held tomorrow, October 15. From 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the livestream will be open to the public and broadcast on Klabin’s YouTube channel.

The event also will launch the Klabin Sowing Education – Good Practices 2020 Awards to recognize and value the new teaching practices of the faculty and administrators of public schools in urban and rural areas of the Municipal School System in the municipalities of Imbaú, Ortigueira and Telêmaco Borba.  The regulations and registration form for the award categories are already available directly on the program’s website:  https://semeandoeducacao.klabin.com.br/.

The event was planned to value the proactive attitudes of educational professionals and to talk about the importance of affective dialogue and of focusing attention on those who care for others, especially during crises such as today.  The webinar is a way to thank teachers for their work and devotion to students even during the challenges of the pandemic, for which it invited to participate Patrícia Diaz, director of the Educational Development of the Teaching Community, and Kiara Terra, actress, narrator and writer.

“During such a delicate time for education that we are experiencing, it is essential that we value teachers and support their care so that they are alert to psychological and emotional issues and can continue the wonderful work they are doing with students, even at a distance,” said Uilson Paiva, manager of Social Responsibility and Community Relations at Klabin.

Over these past few months, education is one of the areas that most needed to reinvent itself when faced with the novel coronavirus. The period has been challenging not just for teachers, who restructured teaching methods, but also for parents, who despite the uncertainties of the moment trusted in the work of these professionals. Now, with on-site classes soon to return, another readaptation is coming and will be needed to maintain close accompaniment to foster trust and emotional tranquility for the entire school community.

The first online event of Klabin Sowing Education occurred in July and discussed the challenges facing education and its adaptations during this global crisis, such as the Digital Literacy project that supported teachers by introducing them to online tools.
