Parana, August 14, 2017 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper, the country’s only producer of hardwood, softwood and fluff pulp, and leader in the markets of corrugated paperboard packaging and industrial bags, will gather clients, suppliers, partners and employees for debating the use of technological innovation in the business. In its first edition, taking place from August 15 to 17, the event will be held at the company’s recently-inaugurated Technology Center, which promotes the integration of research and development fronts of Klabin’s business areas, anticipating trends and creating new technologies and sustainable applications.

For three days, participants will be able to follow the debates, forums and panels on the most diverse topics, with attendance of partners representing companies such as Nestlé, Tetra Pak, IBM, Cubo (Itaú), Dow, 3M, Unilever, BASF, Saint Gobain and SAP, among others, which will share and exchange experiences and knowledge. On the last day, the program includes the presentation of several of Klabin’s success cases.

The event’s purpose is to promote debates and the exchange of knowledge, aiming to stimulate participants’ thinking. This purpose is aligned with Klabin’s culture of providing training alternatives for engaging its internal public. Accordingly, all talks will be made available by the company at Klabin Business School, a platform that supports professional development and leadership formation in the company.

Technology Center

Klabin’s new Technology Center, located in Telêmaco Borba (PR), completes the integration of R&D fronts of the company’s business areas, a strategy adopted to introduce a global, unified and highly complex vision. With laboratories able to produce a broad range of forest-based products and run simulations of the mills’ production lines, the Center seeks to detect trends and create new technologies and sustainable applications. Its construction is part of a plan to invest R$70 million in Research, Development and Innovation (R&D+I) over three years (until 2017), which also includes the acquisition of equipment, the updating of forestry research laboratories, and the training and recruiting of technicians and researchers.
