Paraná, July 13, 2017 – This Friday (14) will mark the delivery of the third lane on highway PR-160, in the stretch connecting Gate 3 of the Monte Alegre Unit to Gate 2. With this, Klabin concludes the first phase of road improvements in Telêmaco Borba, and delivers another benefit to the population living and circulating around the area daily, improving traffic flow and safety.

New road signage on the stretch

With the implementation of the third lane, drivers should be mindful of the new local road signage: from now on, stopping or parking on the right lane is prohibited and considered a very severe traffic violation. The stretch is for vehicles in transit only. Drivers wishing to stop or park should drive until the old Cotrasa station or use the Harmonia round-a-bout to return and access the yard of the Shell station, on the other side of the road.

Klabin stresses the importance of collaboration by drivers in complying with the new rules, which aim to ensure the safety of the population and prevent accidents. In addition to the new local signage, the company will install informational material throughout the highway to guide on the prohibition to park on the third lane and help raise awareness among drivers.

Temporary closing of the footbridge over the Tibagi River

For the safety of pedestrians, the footbridge over the Tibagi River is being closed as of Friday (14) until the end of the road widening and bridge reinforcement works, as the bridge is receiving a pullout lane on both ways and a new pedestrian crossing. We remind that the inconveniences are temporary and will bring important benefits to people and road safety in the region.

The next stage of construction will begin over the next few days and includes construction of a third lane between the Tibagi River bridge and the Telêmaco Borba overpass, aiming to increase the speed, convenience and flow of the region’s traffic.

The works are part of the agreement between Klabin and the Paraná state government, which determines these be deducted from a portion of the VAT (ICMS tax) payable by the company.
