Klabin is in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the second straight year

Company was once again included in the World Index and Emerging Markets Index, remaining on the list of the world’s most sustainable companies

 

São Paulo, November 16, 2021 - Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper, has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the second consecutive year, reiterating its position as one of the world’s most sustainable companies.  The index is one of the leading benchmarks of good sustainability practices for listed companies, and Klabin retains its position in two portfolios - World Index and Emerging Markets Index.

Inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index comes right after Klabin's participation at COP-26, where it was the only Latin American company to be participate in the COP-26 Business Leaders group tasked with disseminating information and engaging the private sector on the issue of climate change. At the event, the Company advocated an active role for Brazil in combating global warming, firm measures to combat deforestation and leverage the potential of the forestry sector for the bioeconomy.

Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index uses top-level assessment criteria to measure aspects such as corporate governance, risk management and code of ethics, as well as initiatives to preserve the planet, safeguard human rights and promote social development.
