Telêmaco Borba City Park celebrates four years with special event
Native trees were planted in the presence of representatives from Klabin and the municipal government of Telêmaco Borba to celebrate the anniversary of the city park
Paraná, October 27, 2021 - On October 22, Klabin brought together representatives from the municipal government of Telêmaco Borba and the company to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the city park. During the event, which followed all COVID-19 health protocols and was attended by professionals from the Environment, Community Relations and Facilities areas at Klabin and the municipal Public Works and Services, Environment and Urban Planning and Education departments, as well as members of the Monte Alegre Scouts Group (GEMA), 300 native tree seedlings were planted in the park.
With these new seedlings, more than 700 seedlings have been planted in the park since its inauguration in 2017. As part of the park's landscape, the new trees will attract birds, provide shelter for visitors, remove carbon from the atmosphere, and attract a wide variety of species to this special and important place for the town. Since 2018, Klabin has been celebrating the park's anniversary every year by organizing wellness actions and sports events using the infrastructure available at the site, while also raising awareness and interest in the population about the importance of preserving the environment and its relationship with the community.
The City Park
The City Park emerged from Klabin's Social and Environmental Action Plan, rolled out in partnership with the community during the implementation of the Puma I Project, the company's new mill located in Ortigueira. The park, which covers an area equivalent to 35 soccer fields, is a sports and leisure complex consisting of a lake, lookout, walking trail, bike path, soccer field, outdoor gym, playground and open space for cultural shows and events.
