Klabin wins new internationally recognized forest certification
Paraná, October 9, 2017 – Thanks to its efforts to meet the needs of its clients for high quality, environmentally correct and socially fair products, Klabin recently won a new internationally recognized forest certification – the Brazilian Forest Certification Program (CERFLOR). The seal attests to the sustainable management of the company’s forests in the Monte Alegre Unit in Paraná, highlighting its engagement with market best practices and the quality of its production, representing yet another recognition that underlines Klabin’s status of pioneer in sustainable solutions.
At the end of September 2017, Klabin underwent audit to receive the CERFLOR certification, which was recommended by the Institute of Forest and Agricultural Management and Certification (Imaflora). For Klabin, the first company in the Southern Hemisphere to receive an international certification attesting to responsible and economically viable forest management and which encourages healthy relations with the community, winning the CERFLOR certification confirms the company’s efforts to stay abreast of improvements in environmental performance to achieve excellence in sustainability and to streamline its processes.
