Santa Catarina, July 8, 2019 – Klabin signed a partnership with the City of Lages to recover seven kilometers of asphalt on the access road leading to Salto Caveiras, a tourist region located 15 kilometers from the city center. The company will invest around R$200 thousand in the project.
The project will include the digging of ditches to improve drainage during the rainy season and increase the durability of the asphalt, new asphalting of deteriorated portions of the road and the installation of new traffic signage that will provide information on taking precautions with heavy vehicles.
The Secretary of Agriculture and Fishing of Lages, Osvaldo Uncini, commented on how the partnership with Klabin is beneficial to all. “It is a very important region, used for transporting grains and wood, while people also use the road, particularly during holidays and the summer vacation period. The structure was outdated and the project with Klabin will significantly improve the region,” he added.
Improvements are expected to be completed by July 15. Drivers should redouble attention when passing construction sites, follow speed limits and observe all posted signage.
