Telêmaco Borba, October 6, 2017 – Last Sunday (Oct. 1) was filled with novelties for the people of Telêmaco Borba, with the inauguration of the newest Parque da Cidade (City Park) by Klabin in partnership with the municipal government.In the morning and afternoon, around 5,000 people – elderly people, adults, youth and kids – visited the park and enjoyed a special day for the city marked by sports, dance, games, music, harmony and leisure.

The four corners of the park were the cynosure of all eyes that were enchanted and satisfied with this latest delivery that will change the daily routine at the city.On the first day of activities, the families had the opportunity to practice zumba, running, cycling and hiking. Some also participated in a day-long soccer tournament.The park is the first sports and leisure space in the city and, apart from its importance in encouraging the adoption of healthy habits, will be another entertainment option for the community.

The importance of the park and its preservation were raised both by the families present and by the mayor of Telêmaco Borba, Márcio Matos, who shared their concern and plans for the site:”Now we have to do our part and take care of this space.We plan to expand it and innovate, as much as possible, in terms of activities and events”.

The City Park was chosen based on polls and meetings held by Klabin with the community.It is the size of 35 soccer fields and has an outdoor gym, playground for kids, rest and leisure squares, cycle track, jogging track, hiking trail, outdoor amphitheater and soccer field with synthetic lawn and LED lighting.The project further underscores Klabin’s commitment to the economic and social development of the communities where it is present.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Márcio Matos, the Mayor, Sadi Oliveira, Industrial Director – Pulp at Klabin, Uilson Paiva, Community Relations Manager at Klabin and other city officials.
