Klabin remains in the Corporate Sustainability Index of B3

São Paulo, December 5, 2019 – For the seventh straight year, Klabin, Brazil’s largest paper producer and exporter, was selected as a component of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of B3. The company’s continued presence in the index’s composition for 2020 recognizes its efforts to foster sustainable development through business activities that promote a balance of the economic, social and environmental dimensions.

The ISE is a tool for comparing the performance of companies listed on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3) in terms of corporate sustainability, based on their economic efficiency, environmental balance, social justice and corporate governance. A pioneering initiative in Latin America, the ISE strives to create an investment environment compatible with the calls for sustainable development of contemporary society and to encourage corporations to adopt ethical responsibility.

This is the 15th composition of the portfolio, which is valid from January 6, 2020 to January 1, 2021. Comprising 36 stocks from 30 companies, the index represents 15 industries with combined market capitalization of R$1.64 trillion. Companies with the 200 most liquid stocks on the B3, which corresponded to 178 corporations, were invited to participate in the index component selection process, which drew on technical support from ABC Associados and on assurance support from KPMG.
