Paraná, May 4, 2017 – Between April 25 and 28, Klabin held in Telêmaco Borba, Paraná, another meeting with its own and third-party drivers to raise awareness on defensive behavior and driving etiquette. The meeting was held under the Right Way Program, implemented at Klabin three years ago, and addressed the increase in vehicles circulating in the region of Campos Gerais, Paraná, due to the expansion of the company’s forest operations.
At the meetings, coordinated by Klabin’s Occupational Safety department (SETR) and the Forest Logistics and Community Relations areas, participants discussed about driving safely in regions around the communities, especially those close to Klabin’s forest operations. During the discussions, drivers also proposed actions to further benefit local traffic and share experiences and tips on improving safety. The initiative was organized at the Casa de Cultura, in Telêmaco Borba, and brought together more than 500 drivers serving the forest area of the Monte Alegre and Puma Units, in Telêmaco Borba and Ortigueira, respectively, both in Paraná.
The Right Way Program organizes engagement and awareness campaigns, educational lectures for diverse audience groups and quarterly reunions in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
