São Paulo, May 3, 2021 –  Keenly aware of evolving market trends, Klabin, Brazil's largest packaging paper producer and exporter, has created Klabin Invest, a platform with content that includes information about the company, the financial markets, sustainability and innovation, among other topics, in an explanatory and understandable language. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the Company’s relations with investors, especially individual investors.

 
According to Marcos Ivo, the Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer, the number of individual investors in the Company increased from 10,000 in 2019 to around 200,000. “We have been monitoring the significant growth of individual investors on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3) and know the importance of holding dialogue with them. Klabin Invest strengthens our communication with investors and opens a new channel to build relations with people interested in the Klabin universe,” he says.
 

The growth observed in Klabin’s investor base accompanies the trend in the financial markets. According to data from B3, the stock exchange reached the mark of 3 million individual investors in September 2020, despite the reduction in income levels on account of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, individual investors account for around 20% of the trades on B3, which links this growth, among other economic factors, to the democratization of access to information.

 
“The financial markets have a complex language that encompasses diverse factors, ranging from economic issues to industry data and the company in which investors are parking their funds. Through Klabin Invest, we will simplify this content and explain in detail our operations and position on important topics such as the ESG agenda, in which we are a benchmark,” said Marcos Maciel, Investor Relations manager at Klabin.
