São Paulo, May 20, 2020 —To ensure the safety of its employees and partners, Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper, has intensified the hygiene and cleaning protocols at all its units and facilities and implemented dozens of preventive actions to combat COVID-19.

Earlier this month, the company distributed hygiene kits to all third-party drivers who visited its units to pick up or deliver materials. A total of 2,500 kits, which included items such as hand sanitizer, soap and a booklet with guidelines on prevention and health, were delivered to the professionals.

The action was launched in Paraná and later extended to all the locations where the company operates, including external warehouses. Apart from this initiative, the company has distributed masks to everyone entering its units. The same has already been done with all employees, who received hand sanitizer bottles and masks to safely perform their functions.

Klabin is part of the chain that supplies the population with items considered essential (food, hygiene, cleaning and hospital items) and hence, it has followed the most rigorous safety and hygiene protocols to guarantee the continuity of its operations. Crisis committees have been set up, which seek the best practices in combating COVID-19 every day in order to protect and guide Klabin’s employees, their families, partners and communities surrounding its operations.
