Klabin delivers space for music education to IFPR

Paraná, December 12, 2018 – A music education lab, fully restructured and renovated, with a stage and recording rooms. That was Klabin’s most recent contribution to the Telêmaco Borba campus of the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR). The space was inaugurated with music performances by students in the presence of mayor Marcio Matos, municipal authorities, academic community and company representatives.

The renovation of the lab will enable music theory and hands-on classes in an environment especially designed for this purpose, favoring the learning dynamics, given that previously the students had classes in regular rooms.“Students need spaces such as this one,” said the interim dean of IFPR, Odacir Zanatta. Brenda Ferreira Preste, a student, believes the lab will positively impact her education. “There will be greater emphasis on learning music and that will help us create a new dynamic that deepens the understanding of what is learned,” she said.“Everyone is so excited about what we have now.”

The dean of IFPR in Telêmaco Borba, Karina Mello Bonilaure, points out that the space will be used by the community as well in the future.“The impact of the new place will be huge. The acoustics, the space for fraternization, all this will promote the rollout of special initiatives and encourage the community to get involved.”For Klabin, investment in education and culture is part of the company’s Sustainability Policy and is aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. The IFPR serves 936 students on-site, in Telêmaco Borba and other cities of the Campos Gerais region.
