Klabin wins Fastmarkets RISI award, one of the preeminent awards in the global pulp and paper industry.

Company wins in Packaging Innovation category at the 11th PPI Awards held in Lisbon, for its Eukaliner® product 

 Klabin won in the Packaging Innovation category for the technology behind Eukaliner® at the 11th edition of the PPI Awards, organized by Fastmarkets RISI in Lisbon. These awards are among the most distinguished honors in the global pulp and paper industry.

The winning case shows that Klabin is launching a totally new paper in the global market, a kraftliner produced exclusively using eucalyptus fiber – Eukaliner®. Though large-scale production is scheduled for early 2021 at the Puma II Unit, which is being built in Paraná, Eukaliner® has already been tested by clients in Europe, the United States and Latin America, and has exceeded all expectations for the product in the packaging segment.

Among the proven benefits of the product observed during tests are high print quality, excellent structure that enables weight reduction and excellent performance in refrigerated environments. Also, since its production uses only eucalyptus, it optimizes planted forest areas.

With the Puma II Project, Klabin will have a line with the capacity to produce 450 thousand tons of Eukaliner® a year.
