The Environmental Police contributed with a lecture and fun activities of environmental education. There were also opportunities to get to know the Legal Woods Program, run by Klabin in partnership with APREMAVI, which advises small and medium-sized farmers on how to make the most efficient use of their lands, so that they become more profitable and also preserve their ecosystems.

This edition included two lectures which are worthy of special note: The future depends on us, given by forestry engineer Vilmar Picinatto – UDESC (University of the State of Santa Catarina), who spoke about how practicing environmental citizenship contributes to the healthy development of the planet. And the second one was The Right Way, given by Klabin’s safety team, which was aimed at raising the awareness of safety aspects in transport to the schools of the region.

The Caiubi Program

Klabin started the Caiubi Program in Parana in 2001, in order to disseminate the concepts of ecological awareness among teachers in the communities where it was operating. In a partnership with the Municipal Secretary of Education of Telemaco Borba and the Regional Nucleus of Education, the project has already benefited almost 160 thousand students and 3 thousand teachers in 500 schools, in the region. In Santa Catarina, on the other hand, the project began in 2007 and is promoted in conjunction with Secretaries of Education. Since it was first established, it has benefited almost 1,000 teachers from 300 schools and over 100 thousand students.
